Establised company in the Fruit export industy is looking for an experienced accountant to join their talented FInance Team.
Key responsibilities
- Financial transactions: Process accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) entries accurately and on schedule
- Banking and cash management: Monitor and reconcile daily bank transactions, prepare cash flow forecasts, and manage liquidity planning
- Supplier and producer accounts: Reconcile supplier and producer accounts, manage packing material costs, and compile payment schedules or remittances
- Cost and commercial accounting: Capture and review cost elements, evaluate under/over recoveries, and report on balance sheet items related to standard cost
- Reporting and compliance: Prepare internal and external financial reports, support audits, and ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., SARB approvals, tax requirements)
- System improvements: Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve efficiency, and support integration between accounting, export, and procurement systems.
